Read MoreKosovo (July 25, 2023) –The Millennium Challenge Account Kosovo (MCA-Kosovo) has held it’s inaugural board meeting on July 25, 2023. Chaired by our board chair Artane Rizvanolli, the meeting brought together all board members, MCC representatives including the esteemed Jonathan Brooks, and the dedicated CDT/MCA- Kosovo team members. Held at the premises of the Government of Kosovo, the inaugural meeting marked a significant milestone for MCA-Kosovo.
The meeting was initiated by opening remarks from Minister Rizvanolli and Ambassador Hovenier. “I especially thank Ambassador Hovenier and the MCC for their dedication, work and opportunity granted to Kosovo with one of the most innovative Programs containing the MCC portfolio globally, which will put us the first in the region and the first in Europe per capita in terms of capacities of batteries,” said Rizvanolli. “The compact program is the biggest and transformative investment in Kosovo’s energy sector for more than 40 years.” Minister Rizvanolli concluded.
During the meeting, board members engaged in important discussions and made crucial decisions pertaining to the establishment of MCA-Kosovo. Notably, they voted on significant documents that will shape MCA’s future direction. Furthermore, the board members selected two candidates for the CEO position at MCA-Kosovo.
This decision reflects the dedication to finding capable leaders who will drive our success and contribute to the development of Kosovo’s energy sector. The presence of all stakeholders, including the MCC and CDT/MCAK team members, symbolizes the strong partnership between MCA-Kosovo and the government in their shared mission towards economic prosperity and the betterment of lives of all Kosovans. MCA-Kosovo looks forward to building upon the momentum generated during the inaugural meeting and working towards the successful implementation of its initiatives to enhance the energy sector and workforce development in Kosovo.
