University of Prishtina and MCA Kosovo committed to operationalizing the Center for Energy, Skills and Innovation

Representatives of MCA-Kosovo (Millennium Challenge Account – Kosovo), in a meeting with the leadership of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina,” held discussions about the “JETA” project, a component of the Compact program, which foresees the upskilling and training programs for Kosovan workforce in energy-related fields.

The Executive Director of MCA Kosovo, Florina Duli-Sefaj, stated that the University of Prishtina is a valuable partner of the Compact and that they are committed to operationalizing the Center for Energy, Skills and Innovation (CESI). “This center will enable young people to develop their skills and will serve as a destination for those who want to build a career in the energy sector,” said Duli-Sefaj.

The rector of the University of Prishtina, Professor Arben Hajrullahu, while thanking the U.S. government and American taxpayers for the Compact program, said that the operationalization of the Center for Training and Innovation in Energy, will strongly support the University of Prishtina and the economic development of the country.

The “JETA” component, within the Compact program, and the Center for Energy, Skills and Innovation, within the University of Prishtina, aim to build a system of upskilling and training programs that will allow participants of this center to be more competitive in the regional labor market and contribute to the country’s economic development.
